How long does the battery last?
There are two versions of the EndoStim device. The EndoStim I system has a battery which lasts approximately 10 years. The EndoStim II system, a smaller device, has a battery which lasts approximately 7 years. At the end of the device’s battery life, the device can be replaced by your doctor in a simple procedure. Your doctor will explain or demonstrate this to you.
Can I pass through airport screening systems?
Yes! At airport security, inform security staff that you have an implanted medical device and show them your identification card. No damage to the implanted system should occur.
Can I have an MRI test?
With the EndoStim II system, you may safely undergo full body MRI scans under specific conditions. With the EndoStim I system, you may undergo MRI scans of your head or extremities (limbs) only under specific conditions specified in EndoStim’s user manuals. Consult your doctor prior to undergoing any MRI scan to ensure all safety precautions are observed.
